DIY: Homemade Natural Linen and Aromatherapy Spray

The power of smell is not one to be messed with. We all experience restless nights, but some may not be aware that there are natural ways to relax your mind and body. With just a few spritzes, room sprays instantly refresh your home, arouse your senses and lift your mood. It's easy to grab Febreze or a scented candle from your local store, but we don't know the added chemicals to these products. The power of natural essential oils will be highly beneficial to your nightly relaxation and also aides in releasing stress from a long day. Here are a few of our must try do-it-yourself room sprays.

Calming Pillow and Linen Spray

  • 15 drops chamomile and 5 drops lavender OR,
  • 10 drops chamomile, 5 drops sage, and 5 drops bergamot OR,
  • 10 drops rosemary and 10 drops lavender

Before you lay down at night, give your Mellanni Sheets a few spritz of this calming spray. Compliment this chamomile based spray with a calming chamomile tea and you'll be counting sheep in no time. Make sure you are using light colored oils to avoid staining your linens.

Energizing Room Spray

  • 12 drops rosemary and 8 drops bergamot OR,
  • 10 drops peppermint and 10 drops lemon OR,
  • 10 drops bergamot, 5 drops orange, and 5 drops grapefruit

Peppermint essential oil is commonly used by aromatherapists for its uplifting, invigorating properties. The lemon and grapefruit will enhance this energizing smell helping to open up your senses and get your mind ready to tackle a new day.

Air Purifying Spray

  • 3 oz filtered water
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 30 drops essential eucalyptus oil
  • 30 drops essential lemon oil

The scent of eucalyptus is both detoxifying and energizing. It helps clear the respiratory system and relieve congestion making it an awesome natural remedy for keeping the air clean and breathable in your home.

It's important to select oils and scents that are right for you. Mixing and matching is always fun, but do your research to make sure you learn everything about each oil.
