Candle or Essential Oil Diffuser.
Our bodies are extremely sensitive to smell and there are certain smells designed to ease your mind and body. Burning a candle before bed or using an essential oil diffuser will help prepare your mind for rest. Try something like lavender or eucalyptus and fill your sleep sanctuary with all the good vibes to ease you into the perfect night's sleep.
A Glass of Water.
While we're asleep, our bodies aren't getting any food or water so it's normal to wake up in the middle of the night feeling dehydrated. Keeping a cup of water beside your bed will keep you from stumbling to the kitchen at 2am every night to hydrate. Sometimes, especially during summer, we like to throw a bottle of water in the freezer before bed so that it stays cold throughout the night. Nothing like a mid-night refresher!
Book before Bed.
As we've mentioned before. One of the best ways to ease into a somber night's sleep is by reading. Keeping a few good reads next to your bed will help remind you night after night to open the book versus turning on the television.
Pen + Paper.
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and seemed to have the answers to life? Maybe you figured out the missing element to your work presentation, or you wake up from a dream that you don't want to forget. This is exactly why keeping a pen and paper bedside is always a great idea. Don't let those ideas get forgotten. Jot them down and then get back to dreaming!
